Editorial policy and corrections
Our standards
- Accuracy first. Every rate comes from a named source through a published formula.
- Honest labels. We call our rates indicative, show the time they were recorded, and never call delayed data “live”.
- No predictions. We explain what moves gold prices but don’t forecast them.
- Official sources for rules. Tax, duty and hallmarking facts are checked against government sources such as CBIC and the Bureau of Indian Standards, and linked from each guide.
- Independence. No jeweller or lender pays for coverage or placement on this site.
How guides are written and reviewed
Guides are written for buyers in Bangalore, checked against the sources they cite, and shown with the date they were last updated. We review them when a relevant rule changes, such as a change in GST or customs duty.
Corrections
If you find an error, contact us. When we confirm a mistake in a guide, we fix it and update the page’s date. If a rate was recorded incorrectly because of a faulty source value, we remove or correct that value in the history and note the change on the methodology page.
